I really like this video about Wenatchee, Washington where I have lived for the last 47 years. Honestly, this video gives me the chills whenever I see it... especially when I hear the narration by a native American whose people inhabited this land long before it was officially settled.
The airplane, Miss Veedol, featured in the video is a replica of the plane that made the first non-stop flight across the northern Pacific Ocean. The 41-hour flight started in Misawa, Japan and (crash) landed in East Wenatchee in 1941. The pilot of the flight was Clyde Pangborn and co-pilot Hugh Herndon. Our local airport (Pangborn Field) is named in honor of the pilot of the historic flight. Misawa, Japan, where the flight started, is now our "Sister City".
I have done quite a bit of traveling in my life and seriously researched and contemplated where I might prefer to live. When I consider ALL things... size, weather, recreational opportunities and traffic being big factors, I have never found a place I would rather call home.
Yes, there are other places I love to visit during certain times of the years but, as I said, considering ALL things Wenatchee is pretty hard to beat.
I hope you have 4:18 to enjoy the video of the place I call home.
