Friday Diary of a Charlotte Realtor® - On Saturday! 12MAY18
I think the sunny Carolina skies brought buyers and sellers out of the woodwork this week...and the week got away from me!
The best business stories for the week...
A very difficult Seller signed-off on the complete list of repair items for my buyers...we had no idea they would handle ONE single item but, they agreed to them all! My buyers are truly delighted and can't wait to get through this process to Closing and move to Charlotte...we're almost there; the difficult part is behind us.
One of my favorite of-all-time clients is moving back to Charlotte from Boston and I simply can't wait for her to move back! We Closed on her new home and she has begun the process of 'design' and is soon to renovate her new place. I've sold her property before she left Charlotte in the past and she completely changes the look and feel of a home. I can't wait to see what she does with this one!
A warm congratulations to my lovely client on her new home and her move back to Charlotte...we have some wine-consuming to do!
One of my current clients who purchased a home from me 3 years ago, is selling that home and buying a larger home this month. The husband was traveling home two weeks ago from New York and happened to be sitting beside one of the owners of a large Manhattan real estate brokerage. They struck up a conversation and the woman on the other side of the isle said, "This is funny...I'm heading to Charlotte to buy a home this weekend!"
My client spoke up and told her that if it didn't work out with the agent she was meeting, she HAD to contact me! He gave both women my contact information. Last weekend, I received a referral from the Manhattan brokerage. Early this week, I received a call from the woman moving from NYC who had seen homes in Charlotte 2 weeks ago with another agent. According to the buyer, the agent has been non-responsive and this family needs to move quickly.
I explained to her that I couldn't help her because she has committed to this other agent. She said, "I am breaking up with him though!" I told her that until that happens, I will not poach another agents' client. I got a call and an email yesterday, showing documentation that the 'break-up' had happened and we are now working together! We are Face-Timing homes this weekend together and should have her under Contract soon, if all pans out.
You have to love those past & current clients who tell anyone who will listen about you. I'm always so honored when they refer their family & friends - perfect strangers is taking loyalty to a whole new level though!
Since I received so many texts and comments (and thank you all!) from last week's update because I didn't include Ray in that update, here's the news from the mediacl front...
Again, insurance mandates that you can't just 'tell' your physician by phone that you have more symptom involvement; you MUST be seen by a physician so that symptom (or those symptoms) can be documented. You can't move forward making a diagnosis without that.
So, good friends with Carolina Neurosurgery got Ray in to see the neurosurgeon this week so that they could determine if our 'street diagnosis' was correct and he agreed. The result was getting him in for an MRI. We had to have someone pull some strings there as well - to get him in next week instead of next month! All I know is that we are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends who have offered any assistance in getting him relief sooner, rather than later. At least next week we will have a definitive answer and hopefully, the plan for a 'fix' and quickly.
Loss of independence is never easy and it breaks my heart to see him be 'stranded' at home, not being able to drive or exercise at all. It's been a long two months but, he is certainly keeping a more positive attitude than I would be keeping right now!
Until next week...
