As a sole proprietor, it pays to plan ahead when it comes to retiring.  It does sound like a novel idea, but who thinks of it seriously when you SO ENJOY what you do for people?  Not me!  Selling Scottsdale Real Estate is a Passion!

 

When it comes time to retire from real estate, my goal is to bring in an experienced agent into the fold to continue servicing and assisting existing clients and their families plus their referrals.   After all, we have great relationships and I'd want to find that special person who shares the same methodologies and passions that I do.  Wow - that's a mouthful!

 

Since I'm not ready to retire from real estate, I can say that it won't be easy since I love what I do for others.  Real estate has been a wonderful career because of the niche in business that I've created since 2008, let alone being in business longer than that. 

 

Having started my real estate career in 2002, I've been fortunate to learn the business before the housing crisis that hit bottom in 2011 for the Phoenix area.  Each part of the country is different, but for us in Arizona, our bottom was officially April, 2011.  Seeing that devastation and the ensuing resurrection has given me a whole new appreciation for my background.

 

My background in banking, insurance, securities, property management, and owning business in other states helps me to make decisions based on the entire financial picture, not just housing.  It was also never my practice to encourage negative amortization loans as those were backed by lesser grade bonds, making them an unstable investment.  

 

Having experienced corporation relocation from Kansas to Alabama to Missour ti Arizona, relocation is one of my hot buttons.  If you're looking to relocate, give me a ring .I can share some great tips and tricks, including labeling each room for the movers :) 

 

It's my business practice to provide professional representation, value-added service, and great communication to everyone I work with, no matter the price point.  Providing and researching information as to energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water efficiency, and methods to reduce and reuse resources is very helpful for my clients.  And I'm proud to have received many referrals for these services.  

 

In the future, when I retire, I look forward to staying in touch with those clients who have chosen to remain friends, and there are many.  One of the many benefits in real estate is that I've made wonderful friends who I enjoy seeing from time to time.  Beyond that, I look forward to visiting my family around the US and learning container gardening, to name a new hobby,  and getting creative in my yard!
