I can't believe April is over. It was a great month for my blog. I actually got over 175,000 pageviews for the month with large growth in both organic and pinterest traffic. It was also a record month for blog income (I'll have to write about it separately...in a members only post).
In April, I pushed myself to do 2 blog posts/week. In May, I plan to just do 1 and maybe 1 project per week. This week's project is to upgrade my hosting and switch to https. The transition is underway, and thank goodness I'm not the one doing it. Hopefully, things will be set and upgraded tomorrow.
So, I thought I would share my articles for April here with you guys. Even though I wasn't busy on Active Rain, I was super busy on my blog and on Pinterest.
As you know, I love hardwood flooring. But, there are places where hardwood isn't the best choice, and there are also times when people need to save money, so I put together the 5 best alternatives for hardwood. This may come in handy for your clients, especially if they are prepping and staging their homes.
Farmhouse is all the rage these days (in case you didn't notice). And, if you don't know this style, check it out on pinterest. It's everywhere! So, I gathered 19 different (and affordable) ways to add farmhouse style to your home.
I finally got to this...it's been on my "to do" list for months. If you have pets and carpets, you know that fur gets everywhere. This goes over the best vacuums for pet hair. These will help with carpets, sofas an well just about any fabric (including clothes).
Navy is a hot and up and coming color. It's a way to add a neutral punch of color, and if it's done tastefully and in moderation, it's super chic. I included my favorite paint shades for navy, too.
So, I got this idea from a promoted pin I saw on pinterest. I clicked on it, and it did NOT show me trends. Then, I googled the topic and realized that no one had written an article on this topic. They were always writing about bathroom trend, but none were specific to vanities. So I wrote one. We'll see how it does.
So, I went a little bit wild on colors here, and you may want to check this out if you are planning on painting a powder room soon. Personally, I prefer neutral paint colors in the most areas of the home, but powder rooms represent a small little and private area where you can really express your personality.
Okay, I know this has nothing to do with home decor or what I typically write about. But, for those of you have followed me throughout the years, you know I'm famous for my cheesecake and love decorating this. I was inspired to write something fun and quick on the topic. Home decorating, cake decorating...same thing.
This was just a fun coast to share a few wild and unique coffee tables. When done right, a coffee table can be the centerpiece and focal point in the room
I love pendant lights. They are a fun way to add light and decor at the same time. I recently wrote an article on pendants, and this is a subset of those lights. These are the ones that are both more affordable and have a farmhouse style look.
In this article I share 11 stunning dark hardwood floors. These are pre-finished woods that are made in the factory. I'm writing about refinishing hardwoods so often, I thought it would be a nice change of pace.
So that's my monthly round up. I'm going to slow down the pace for May as there are several projects I want to work on. I'm hoping some of them may accelerate my blog income or traffic or both. Wish me luck.
