Which is Better: Dropbox or iCloud for a Mac?

Real Estate Agent with Lyon Real Estate BRE #00697006

Oh, man, I can remember the day I upgraded my computer experience in the last 1980s to a Compaq 286 with a 20 MB hard drive. Whoa! That thing was portable as long as I had a luggage roller to put it on because it was too heavy and bulky to carry. IIRC it was around 40 pounds.

Back when if you had anything worth saving on your computer you put it on a floppy disk. I even have a tiny floppy disk reader that I can connect via USB if one can find a USB port anymore.

Welcome to 2018. Even a 1 TB is not big enough for my purposes. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Dropbox vs iCloud When Running Out of Space on Mac Hard Drive.

It is crazy how the tech world has exponentially grown.  I would prefer the iCloud over dropbox .... just my preference!!

My first computer was an Apple IIE that I bought in 1983.  I really didn't use it much back in those pre-Windows days, but my kids used it to type class papers on.  It was 10 years before I bought another, and the difference in those 10 years was in light years.

Since I don't use a MAC, some of this was greek to me... but I appreciated your explanation of the differences between iCloud and Dropbox... something I need to look into further.

Morning Elizabeth, I use Dropbox all the time, and have upgraded to give me more space.  Don't use MAC or iPhone.

Nina Hollander If you use more than one computer or look up files and folders on your phone, you will probably gravitate toward Dropbox.

Joan Cox Do you use more than one computer or a Smartphone to manage folders? If so, Dropbox would like to sell you more space but you can also use "selective" to turn off and on folders without it. It's in your gear.

I use Google Drive and Dropbox. I have never run out of space. No worries and storage space is cheap.
