Spring outside my office window

The redwood trees at the side of our condo complex are getting large enough to attract song birds as well as hummingbirds. Today this robin perched near the top of the tree or a long while before flying off to new adventures.

The view outside my 7th-floor office window makes me smile!

Lottie,

Always love seeing the birds show up, and the trees green up.  We just did a quick drive to the wine country to pick up our bread from our favorite baker there.  So much evidence of spring everywhere. A

On our way home from the Monterey Penninsula, we touched briefly into San Francisco, yesterday.  I noticed construction going on everywhere.

Yes! Spring is in the air.  Ah-choo!  Allergens are abundant but the blooming trees and flowers are such a welcome sight.  Enjoyed your photo.  Have a nice weekend.

That's a good shot of  your feathered friend.   Nice to have a little nature nearby in the city.

I'm enjoying watching these (a series of 3) redwood trees growing, Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD and seeing a variety of birds at eye level.

I kept waiting for him to turn around so I could capture the red breast, but finally gave up and got back to work, Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents I don't see many robins here, so enjoyed this sighting.

Hello Grant Schneider - yes, the first-growth redwoods that are hundreds of years old are grand, indeed. These at our condo are likely around 15 years old. But---they now are eye level to me in my 7th story condo. It's fun to see how they've grown in the 6+ years that I've lived here.

Hello Ron and Alexandra Seigel - signs of spring are everywhere. I could spot changes today at the Fort Mason Community Garden from Wednesday when I was last there. Yesterday I visited a client who has moved to Santa Rosa - the wine country is glorious!

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat - what do you think of the Sales Force tower? It surely dwarfs the rest.

Thank you, Jack Tenold - I hope you're enjoying spring in your area, too. I keep hearing about the tulip fields in WA -- have you visited them?

Hi Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert - yes, I'm enjoying every minute of this month; hope you are too. I went to Santa Rosa yesterday to visit clients who moved there right after the wildfires (their new home was spared) and thought of the nice brunch we enjoyed last year.

Hi Chris Ann Cleland - I often spot various kinds of birds in the tree outside my window--this was the first time I had seen a robin. In San Francisco we're fortunate to have many parks to enjoy, both large and small. It's also great to have a bit to greenery right outside my 7th-story window.

The burmuda grass here is finally greening up after a cooler than normal April. All houses look better with green grass than brown.

Unfortunately I can't hear birdsong from my office, Kathy Streib but when I'm at my garden plot at Ft. Mason, I delight in listening to them. An pest- and herbacide free garden attracts birds, butterflies, bees.....and me!

Interesting thought, Nina Hollander - I just know I enjoy the juxtaposition of natural beauty (tree & bird) with the man-made (art deco condo building)

Hi Lottie Kendall - My earliest recollection of seeing the first bird show up for spring was the Robin. I was a small child and never forgot how happy a Robin  made me feel. Every time I see a Robin, it reminds me of a happy place in life.

What a beautiful view you have! Your area of California is so beautiful and always full of pleasant surprises. Soon the blossoms will bloom and spring will be all around. This may sound corny, but when people ask, what's your favorite song, I say bird songs.

Enjoy the magic of spring!
