Which Do You Prefer: DocuSign vs Digital Ink?

By
Real Estate Agent with Lyon Real Estate BRE #00697006

When I asked an agent in my office who had worked for a variety of other companies which digital signature program she used, she said Digital Ink. The reason she likes Digital Ink is because that's the first program she signed up for and she has an account there.

She doesn't want to waste money by signing up for a different digital signature program. Plus, there is always a learning curve with new software, which is why so many offer "classic" versions of software so older people don't have to change or learn something new.

You can read more about this discussion in my personal blog today at this link: DocuSign vs Digital Ink for Sacramento Real Estate Agents.

Elizabeth, we see some Docusign offers, but usually the agents are out of the Denver metro area.  Never heard of Digital Ink.

HI Elizabeth... personally, I love e-signing and so do 99.9% of my clients. Have never heard of Digital Ink. I use Skyslope's system, because it's free to me through my company and have been quite happy with it. My clients find it easy to use and their customer support is great.

Joan Cox We use Zipforms for our paperwork and I believe Digital Ink is part of that group.

Nina Hollander I think I received a file through Skyslope recently. An agent sent me an offer that way. No forewarning. No introduction. No email. Just a signed copy for me to sign. I don't want to sign a contract I haven't read nor even click on a link I don't recognize, so I inquired. Some agents have little communication skills, sheesh.

Hi Elizabeth... that's not a Skyslope issue... it's an agent issue. Anytime I send something through Skyslope I have to put a subject line in and there's plenty of space to write a note. I should know... I send those notes to clients all the time with things to sign.

Nina Hollander Yes, I am acutely aware it is an agent issue. You know, right, if you leave your broker, you probably no longer have access to your files.

I always write notes to my clients in DocuSign as well. Only my TC sends things out without a note but even she has updated her practice. It's so impersonal to send a document for signature with just the subject line. We are not robots!

Elizabeth... no worries on losing my files. Copies of everything that is in Skyslope are on my hard drive, on discs, and in my Evernote files. I've changed brokers 4 times in Charlotte and have never "lost" critical files.

Hi Elizabeth, I too prefer DocuSign for the reasons you mention in the "rest of the story."  Have a good flight home, and I'm sure the kitties will be happy to see you too. ( And your husband) :)
