RealtyZam Review for Real Estate Accounting
Currently I am on day 10 of severe vertigo and so am pretty much bedridden. So while I am on an unexpected 'staycation', so to speak, I have decided to actually read all of those emails I get every day and see if there is anything I am missing. A few days back I opened an email from The NAR newsletter and saw information on RealtyZam, and since I had been looking for a new accounting software I decided to have a look.
The first thing I saw was that it was specifically for real estate, and that is is also a mileage tracker, with access on a mobile app. Ah ha! Everything in one place. I love that. They are offering a free trial with no credit card so I decided to take it for a test drive, with all of my free time.
I was a little disappointed that it did not have a single video for learning how to use it, so I had to just jump in and just wing it. Since my head is a bit wobbly with the vertigo, I was concerned I may not have the where with all to really 'get it'. But to my surprise it was so intuitive that the video's are a mute point.
Currently there is not direct link to your bank or credit cards, (although I am told that is in the works and should be set in the next few weeks) so you have to download CSV or quicken spread sheets and then upload them. I was on Safari and had an issue with the upload, so wrote support, on a Thursday night late, expecting an answer the next day, maybe. To my surprise I got an email back almost immediately. I had to write back with a clarification and shock! I got a call from tech support! Talk about great support! The issue was resolved quickly and I was on my way.
Did I say I have vertigo?? Arghh! Well, at the time I uploaded the spread sheets, I was having to delete each thing I didn't want with two clicks. Talk about head spinning! I wrote support, and suggested a fix, and by the time I had a second spread sheet loaded, they wrote and said great idea, the programmers just added it to the system. Really? I logged out and logged back in and Miracle! Now you can check them all and delete as you like. Talk about service.
Since there is little I can really do right now I worked on getting my whole year of expenses and income in, and it all went very smoothly. I am 90% done with that part, and will start playing with the mileage tracker next. I just downloaded it on my iPhone and it looks very easy to use.
It also has a section for your clients, which will allow you to track exact expenses and mileage to a particular client. Do you know how much each client is costing you? I think we can safely say we would be slightly surprised.
I love the final CPA report, it is very clear for your tax person to see everything at a glance.
I have only been exploring it for a few days but so far I am loving it, and I am almost ready for tax time, which is a miracle in itself!
Now if I can just get rid of the vertigo and get back to work so I can try out the mileage tracker...
