Measuring the Forests of Gogebic County Michigan
These are a few shots from a recent trip we took to the Northern part of Michigan for a 400,000 acre inventory and appraisal.
Lots of bald eagles up here, but they are generally shy about getting their pictures taken.
The timber in this stand is rather small, but the quality is consistently very good, a tribute to the previous corporate owners.
One of many Forestry Camps where we live as we travel across Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Camping out saves fuel, time and money for us and our clients.
I always enjoy the quality timber we see in the UP of Michigan.
Three young Foresters, Rachel Kronenberg, Josh Watton, and Nick Crane posing for a quick picture before heading into the woods.
We are always finding scraps of History out in the forest, I wonder who built this bridge, what happened to it, and why it was never rebuilt?
Last but not least, it always helps to have an old forester around to ensure that the quality in the inventory stays tip top, that the data gets back to the office quickly and the project gets done On Time.
I hope you enjoyed a small glimpse into a timber cruise, or inventory.
