Bill Evans Lake...

Bill Evans Lake is located 29 miles Northwest of Silver City.  This 62 acre man-made reservoir was constructed 30 years ago by Phelps-Dodge Mining Company to supply water to its copper mineral processing plant located 10 miles southeast in Tyrone. Bill Evans Lake is open to the public for fishing and picnicking.  The lake is stocked with rainbow trout and often yields record smallmouth bass catches.
