Pictures from the Bernalillo Wine Festival 2011

My wife and I had a great time at the Bernalillo Wine Festival today. The weather was great and the crowds were not too bad.

Over 40 wineries from across New Mexico were represented and close to 30,000 people attended the event over the Labor Day weekend.

Other New Mexico businesses participated as well, everything from Valley Garlic from Placitas NM to Pecos Valley Chili Company.

Here are some pictures from the event:

Although I had a very enjoyable glass of Cabernet from Dos Viejos in Tularosa NM, by far my favorite vendor of the day was New Mexico Pecan Company from Mesilla NM. I didn't bring home any bottles of vino today, but I did bring home some delicious items-whole Pecans, cinnamon praline pecans, sweet and hot pecans, yogurt covered pecans, chocolate covered pecans, plus red and green chili pistachios.

I'm going to suggest that next year they call it the Bernalillo Wine and Pecan Festival. Do you think it will catch on?

By the way, if you would like to live in Bernalillo, a great little New Mexico town, let me know because I sell Bernalillo Homes.

Rich, I had no idea NM made wine. I love wine tasting events. I am sure adding "pecan" would catch on!

Good Evening Rich:

Great event to post about.  A good friend of mine attended and she indicated that it was a great time.  Based on the feedback she provided it sounds tlike it was a great event.  Hope you had a great Labor Day!

Hey, Rich if you start that trend it may very well catch on.  Bernallilo Wine and Pecan Festival has a nice ring to it.
