Google Dumps Real Estate Category

Services for Real Estate Pros

This week Google announced they will be "retiring" the Real Estate category with Google Maps.  This likely means a big change in how properties will be marketed online.  For more on what exactly this will means to the real estate industry visit the Property Marketing Gurus Blog.

You bet Brad -

The announcement sited low ussage of the feature.  On the for sale side of the equation there are other more effective tools like zillow.com who Google doesn't want to compete with.  On the rental side - this will take away a key competitive advantage for an independent property owner or manager.

I guess as much as we love Google for all the free and easy solutions they've brought to the table - we'll need to get used to having the hot dog pulled out of the bun on us.
