Are you a 'TEXT SAVVY AGENT'? Part 2

Real Estate Agent with LAER Realty Partners

Are you a 'Text Savvy Agent'?

The world is changing and so is the way you do your business.

Here is part 2 of the TEXT SAVVY AGENT!

You are in 2010. Questions  you should ask yourself:

What language does 'Generation Y' buyer speak?
What would you do with your potential clients who feel email is an obsolete technology?
How does this translate into our business?

Are you a 'TEXT SAVVY AGENT'? Do you speak the language of the new generation? Are you involved in IM, text-messaging, SMS etc.?

So, Dear TEXT SAVVY AGENT. Let me test your knowledge. (This time - symbols only) If you knew 50% of these acronyms correctly, you are a text savvy agent. No cheating, please.

:-)        .......Happy/Smily

No, I am not text savvy, but I will try to get on board.  And, now that I am subscribing to you, I am hopeful.

Praful, I just upgraded my phone to a Sprint Epic because I HATED texting on my Centrum.  It is the wave of the future and either we get on the band wagon or we get left in the dust!

I agree; we want to communicate in the method our clients prefer.

I do marvel how each generation seems to prefer a single method.

I can't believe that  I'm going to say this, but I'm elated to report that I am sooooo not a "Text Savvy Agent", and have no desire to be!  As someone who manages the New England Region for REALTORS®, I am a huge proponent of technology.  As I convey to every agent that I interview for a position with us, the under  30 crowd is shopping for real estate on mobile devices and it's exceedingly important that we meet them where they are.  That said, communicating through emoticons is a bit too over the top for my taste.  Words (whether written or spoken) will never be replaced and shouldn't be.
