All of Your 30A Questions Answered

With its sugar sand beaches, turquoise waters, and quaint beach villages, it’s no surprise millions of visitors flock to the beaches of South Walton Florida every year. Although the faces change, the questions vacationers bring with them remain the same. And as 30A real estate experts, our agents at Go To The Beach are often asked these same few questions by travelers and real estate customers alike. We recently posed some of these questions to our 30A real estate experts and the results are in and we’ve highlighted the winners below.

Best Restaurant on 30A

WINNER: Cafe Thirty-A

Consistently pleasing diners for over 20 years, Cafe Thirty-A is a mainstay for visitors and locals and it is no surprise it tops our list of 30A restaurants. With crowd favorites such as the Sesame‐Crusted Tuna and Lobster - Truffle Mac & Cheese, along with a laid-back beach atmosphere and excellent service, Cafe Thirty-A is worth the visit. They also offer specials that keep you from breaking the bank -  you won’t want to miss their martini night on Tuesdays & Thursdays (try their Pineapple Cosmo) and their BOGO dinner entrees from 5-6 pm daily is one of the best deals on 30A.  One of the premier restaurants on the Emerald Coast, Cafe Thirty-A has a name worthy of the beautiful beaches is represents. HONORABLE MENTIONS: Basmati’s Asian Cuisine, Borago Restaurant, Seagrove  Village Market, & Stinky’s Fish Camp

Best View on 30A

WINNER: The Rooftop Bar at Bud & Alley’s

This beloved gathering spot has been a Seaside establishment since 1987 and is located at one of the most special spots on 30A, in the heart of Seaside overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Some could argue Bud & Alley’s is the heart of Seaside, offering a friendly, open bar atmosphere, serving up their unique take on Southern coastal classics, all with an understated elegance and world class view. A trusted tradition year after year for many visitors, the Rooftop Bar at Bud & Alley’s is perfect for the whole family or a special date night.  As one of the of the most popular places for watching the sunset, the daily sounding of the sunset bell is vintage Seaside and a sure sign you are taking in one of the best views on 30A. HONORABLE MENTIONS: Vue on 30A, The Bay, Basmati’s Asian Cuisine, Borago Restaurant, Pavilion at the Shrimp Shack, Back Porch at Old Florida Fish House

Best Restaurant for Seafood

WINNER: Stinky’s Fish Camp

Their motto says it all “With a name like Stinky’s, it better be good” and if the consistent line outside the door is any indication, Stinky’s Fish Camp is worth the wait. Chef Jim Richard (once the Sous Chef at New Orleans’ famous Commander’s Palace) insists on using the freshest ingredients and Gulf catches at this laid back fish camp. Sitting on a coastal dune lake just across from the beach, you can take in the view while dining on fresh seafood and raw oysters. Consistently voted the most popular seafood spots on 30A, Stinky’s Fish Camp is known for their oysters “all days, allways”. Check out their Sunday brunch and be entertained by The Steenos - a local favorite - nothing rivals the easygoing vibe that only Stinky’s can create. Peruse all seafood options on the menu at Stinky’s Fish Camp here.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Cafe Thirty-A, Seagrove Village Market, Old Florida Fish House, Basmati’s Asian Cuisine, Marie’s Bistro

Favorite Things to Do on a Rainy Day?

WINNER: Movies at Grand Boulevard

Luckily when rain clouds appear on 30A there isn’t a shortage of fun things to keep the you busy. And with a new movie theater just a short drive away at Grand Boulevard in SanDestin, catching the latest feature film  is a great way to spend an afternoon when beach weather is not cooperating. Grand Boulevard has grown quickly over the past few years offering boutique shopping (check out the Zoo Gallery or Anthropologie), first class restaurants and entertainment. Emeril’s Coastal Italian will be opening soon, but in the meantime there are many excellent dining options such as Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, The Wine Bar, and Cantina Laredo.  Catching a movie at Grande Boulevard and spending the day at Grand Boulevard is hands down our first choice on how to spend a rainy day in South Walton.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: The Shard Shop, The REP Theatre, Bayou Arts Center, 30A Trolley by Sunshine Shuttle, Yoga at Balance Health Studio
