Downtown Bethesda is amazing! There are so many luxury condo buildings appearing, seemingly on every corner. The Adagio is old hat now. The Darcy is nearly completely sold out. The Lauren is open.  Now we are waiting for the Cheval to be finished next year. The only problem is that these are all very expensive buildings.  What is available for someone who wants to stay in the mid 300's for a one bedroom and the mid $500s for a nice penthouse condo with two bedrooms?  The first choice should be The Chase at 7500 Woodmont Avenue, just across from the Bethesda Metro.

Stop your search! If you are looking for style and space in the heart of downtown Bethesda - this is it! This is a  friendly mid-sized building at 7500 Woodmont Avenue with s a real sense of community.  There are approximately 250 condominiums in a twelve story building at the edge of the Woodmont Triangle and the northern end of downtown Bethesda. It is a short walk to NIH and Walter  Reed and literally across the street from the Bethesda Metro. This condo community is close to  all the shops and stores that Bethesda has to offer. 

 

What is Near The Chase Condominiums?

Leave your car in the garage! This condo complex has a Walkscore of 99. The Subterranean Safeway is a block away on Old Georgetown and the new Harris Teeter is at the end of Battery and Wisconsin Avenue!  Maybe best of all - these condos are an easy walk to NIH and Walter Reed.

You are so close to the Woodmont Triangle shopping area with great restaurants and shops.  There is an iconic restaurant there - the Bethesda Diner that I remember from my childhood, but it has been joined by other great choices like the Woodmont Grill, Jetties for wonderful sandwiches and salads, BGR for great burgers, and House of Milae for Korean food.  The wonderful thing about Woodmont Triangle is that most of the restaurants and shops are independently owned - and there are lots of moderately priced ethnic restaurants.  In a sense, Woodmont Triangle is old Bethesda while the area south of Old Georgetown, with Barnes and Noble, Lululemon, 5 Guys, the Apple Store, Blue Mercury, and Le Creuset is the location for the national stores.  Those stores are just two or three blocks away from the Chase to the south. 

Shopping is easy here with Blue House and Random Harvest for home design, Mustard Seed and Reddz for repurposed clothing,  Daisy Too Boutique and the Posh Pooch (for Fido or Fifi). There are lots of great reasons for a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood! Francesca's, Bonobo's, Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma are there in the other direction for your shopping entertainment. 

The Chase Condos Are Spacious and Stylish

Built in 1987 and converted to condominiums in late 2006 the Chase Condos are always popular.  The smallest model is a one bedroom condo in the 09 tier with 549 square feet.  The 04 tier is 568 square feet while the 03 tier is 571 square feet.  The 20 tier, the 12 tier and the 05 tier units are all around 720 square feet  and the 13 tier goes to 765, while still all being one bedrooms. Want more space? The 10 tier is a one bedroom condo with 777 square feet while the 14 tier is 787 square feet and the 11 tier is 792 square feet but all are still one bedrooms.  The 02, 16, 19 and 21 tiers are two bedroom  with one bath and 861-878 square feet.  The 01, 06, 09,  17, 18 and 22 tiers are expansive 1125 - 1175 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths.  If you are looking for a condo with the space of a single family, then you will probably love the 15 tier with 1530 square feet of space and three bedrooms and 2 baths.  If you really want a feel of a single family then look for a condo on the top floors.  They have wood burning fireplaces! Imagine a wood burning fireplace in a condo in downtown Bethesda! 

Prices at the Chase are more expensive than some of the nearby buildings like the Whitehall and about the same as the City Commons of Bethesda, but they are also more stylish and upscale. Plus, they are pet friendly AND you have a washer and dryer in your unit.

The Condo Fee at The Chase Condos 

The condo fee includes a front desk concierge, trash removal and common area maintenance.  Parking is easily available with an underground garage. The building also has an exercise room and a party room. In addition, there is a barbecue area, pool and two lit tennis courts.  Pets are allowed, which is wonderful since downtown Bethesda is right outside your front door and there are so many places to walk with your pet!  Given all the amenities that you get when you live at the Chase, the condo fee is very reasonable - although not low! 

Why You Want to Live at 7500 Woodmont Avenue

Proximity to everything is always one of the best reasons to choose to live at the Chase Condominiums.  You are truly in the heart of Bethesda between Woodmont Triangle and downtown Bethesda. 

If you want to shop, you can walk to the Woodmont Triangle and shop at Blue House or Reddz... just to name a few places.  Restaurants are plentiful with great choices like Mia's, Woodmont Grill, Matuba, and Jetties among the many selections.  Lots of home decor shops are located here like Union Hardware and Random Harvest. This is more like Old Bethesda where the shops and restaurants are still individually owned and there are lots of well priced ethnic restaurants.

 Where Do Children Who Live at The Chase Go to School?

 

Children who live at the Chase Cominiums attend Bethesda Elementary (home to a great Sunday morning farmers' market), Westland Middle School and Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. Hi Lise -- you have provided lots of great details in your look at The Chase condos in Bethesda.  We are also seeing some new construction of condos and the prices are quite a bit higher than the resale market so these types of complexes are good values in my opinion -- same great neighborhood and easier on the wallet.
