flower mound: Distinctly Flower Mound - Farmer's Market - 10/14/17 10:10 AM
by Patricia Feager, 10/2017
Growing together as a community to promote good health is one of the many distinct reasons why Buyer's choose Flower Mound, Texas. What sets the Flower Mound Farmer's Market located in Parker's Square apart from other Farmer's Markets in North Dallas is that it's not just about the people choosing plants, vegetables, and fruit. This morning I got to see this beautiful dog sniffing out the barbecue sauces. As soon as he was done, he mozzied on over to another friendly dog for communication.
Flower Mound is known for being a family community where students are included in gathering places. Here … (9 comments)

flower mound: Distinctly Flower Mound - New Construction - 10/11/17 06:33 AM
by Patricia Feager, 2017
As the trend of low inventory and choice selections of older homes continues in Flower Mound, buyers may want to consider new construction. Buying new is a completely different process than buying pre-existing homes. There are advantages and disadvantages. Some things to consider include:
It takes time to build. Builders need lots, permits, planning and zoning, contractors, e.g., engineers, electricians, roofers, glass and window, plumber, and foundation people, just to name a few. They also need materials, and Buyers. The erection of a building takes time and money. Weather and unexpected delays is a factor.

flower mound: Feager's Fall Flowers - 10/06/17 11:05 PM
by Patricia Feager, 10/7/2017
Peace begins with a smile --- Mother Teresa
Fall flowers are a favorite of mine. When I get up in the moring and see the sun shining it makes me smile. If you look deeply into the center of a flower you can almost feel a spiritual connection, I know I do. Have you ever pulled the petals off a flower and said, "He loves me, he loves me not?" Why do people do that? To rip apart the petals off a flower breaks harmony with nature.
There's something about the way the petals move that moves me. It's impossible … (15 comments)

flower mound: The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch - 10/06/17 06:14 PM
by Patricia Feager, 10/6/2017
I had fun at the Pumpkin Patch taking photos and meandering through the field of dreamy pumpkins. Families can hop on board the wagon for a nice hayride through the patch too! For kids with lots of energy, they can bounce around in the bounce houses too.
Now is a great time to think about holiday treats. Whether you make apple pie, pumpkin pie, or something sweet like Baked Alaska, have fun in the kitchen and involve family members to share in the celebrations. It's a great time to check your … (14 comments)

flower mound: Unidentified Visitors to Flower Mound, TX - 09/06/17 03:07 PM
by Patricia Feager, 9/6/17
I don't know if these bees and the moth and/or butterfly flew in as a result of Hurricane Harvey, but I've never seen anything like it before, have you? They showed up in my Flower Mound, TX garden this afternoon uninvited! There was enough Lantana growing to keep them satisfied so I wasn't at all worried about getting stung. They appeared very, very hungry, too!

The 2017 butterfly festival isn't scheduled until the first weekend in November when the butterfly migration peaks. This little guy flew in the same time the orange and black winged bees arrived and was … (19 comments)

flower mound: Marge & the Green Dragonfly - 07/30/17 05:24 PM
by Patricia Feager, 7/30/2017
Pet sitting for friends in Flower Mound can be fun because dogs make you more observant in nature. Here's a photo of the dragonfly Marge was chasing. Once she took off to hunt for the squirrel climbing up the tree on the other side of the yard, I was able to photograph this green dragonfly. The sun was so bright and the colors were so vivid!
Marge is in the process of being adopted by my friends. She's quite comical and  very intelligent. When she's in the backyard, it's as if she's on an African Safari. She notices everything! … (20 comments)

flower mound: Winter, Spring, Summer & Fall - SILENCE most deadly of all - 07/19/17 12:04 PM
by Patricia Feager, 7/19/2017
F/U - CO
This is in F/U (follow-up) to my ActiveRain post written on 11/7/2014, "CO Poisoning, the Silent Killer." By definition carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas. For more information look it up and know the signs.
Since last night, qualified contractors and technicians have been working inside and outside my house, installing a new and complete Air Conditioning unit. Still waiting for the Gas Dryer technician... I can't say whether or not I experienced low to moderate levels of CO symptoms, but I can say for about 78 hours I have experienced the following:

Headaches (not normal for me) Fatigue … (10 comments)

Bridlewood in Flower Mound is an Equestrian Community that continues to grow and to mature in many new facets of natural artscape and enjoyment. The quality of life and diversity co-exists with nature. The mature trees are simply remarkable because they have been maintained since the community began. flower mound: April Showers Brought May Flowers - 05/20/17 06:53 AM
Musings by Patricia Feager
After a wet and windy spring, this is the result of my annual manual labor in my Flower Mound garden. I enjoy planting and adding something new every year. The flowers in the top left was a complete surprise! When I planted it into the earth, there were no buds or flowers! To me, it looks uniquely exotic and I am proud of how it turned out! The photo on the top right was taken a few days ago when the winds were blowing fast. I felt as if the petals waved back at me, letting me know … (53 comments)

flower mound: Springtime is the Season for Mexican Hat - 05/04/17 04:16 PM
by ©Patricia Feager, 5/4/2017
Spring brings forth an abundance of Texas Wildflowers. Today I came upon the Mexican Hat in Highland Village near Flower Mound, TX and its petals were waving in the wind. It's such a cheery flower. They come in bright yellow or burnt orange. The first shot is the shot I got this morning about 11:00 a.m. It's in its pure and natural color - no editing at all.
Below is the same photo using the software Ribbet. In just a subtle change, I got a different result. All I did was give it a Mirrored Frame in the shade of blue … (14 comments)

flower mound: 1713 Meyerwood LN S - Flower Mound, TX - 04/19/17 06:27 PM
The countdown to closing begins effective 4/19/2017. An offer brings joy to sellers. Acceptance is even better. There are many parts of a home sale and everyone has to cooperate to make things work. It's a team effort, no matter how you look at it. Putting a home on the market really gets owners outside of their comfort zone. The search for the perfect house takes a lot of effort. Marketing, open houses, advertising, rearranging schedules, keeping a house clean and organized, making sure every detail is taken care of requires a lot of … (12 comments)

flower mound: March Planting in Flower Mound & North Texas - 03/14/17 12:08 PM
©Patricia Feager, 3/14/2017
Though there may be blizzard-like conditions in the North East, the sun shines in Flower Mound, TX. Light frost was predicted yesterday but when I woke up around 4 a.m. there wasn't a trace of frost. The sun is up and bright. My flowers are doing great. Tulips and Hyacinths have come and gone. Iris' are about 12 - 14 inches tall. Carnations are blooming. Last year begonias and mums are poking through the soil. Planting new flowers began a week ago and I'll continue to add and replace as time goes on. I slapped my first mosquito on … (19 comments)

flower mound: The Oscars and the Stars - 02/26/17 10:41 PM
Unusual Sky Over Flower Mound, TX
6:20 PM, 2/26/17
The sky appeared to be inspiring, ominous, and beautiful over Flower Mound, Texas this evening. It was the lovely artistic strokes in the sky that caught my attention while driving home this evening. I just had to pull over near the school playground to snap this photograph. Later this evening, just before the Oscars ended, closer to 11:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, a loud thunderous sky and flashes of lightning shot through my windows while raindrops pounded on top my roof and echoed inside the fireplace; then ended rather abruptly.
Before the rain, this celestial … (18 comments)
